Gloria Goldman has been professionally involved with food and entertaining since 1972. Her business, which originally consisted of cooking classes and demonstrations, went off in a more exciting direction when she had the opportunity to live in Japan from 1980 - 1985. She promptly founded a cooking school which she called a la Gloria and taught American cuisine to Japanese women.

Since 1985, Gloria's company, Golden Gourmet - Now A PAMPERED AFFAIR - still resolves around food, meals and parties but now the emphasis is on designing menus and entertainment to suit clients individual needs. A Pampered Affair also specializes in the creation of custom gift baskets which Gloria calls "The sweet alternative to flowers." These beautiful and creative baskets, appropriate for all occasions, have no set items, depending instead on the need of the client and the occasion for which they are given. Gloria, whose background is in social work but who has also enjoyed entertaining, has worked for the Department of Social Services as well as for the F.B.I. She has also worked at several hotels as banquet manager. Gloria loves pampering people and taking care of their entertainment needs, knowing that clients are often overwhelmed when faced with putting together a dinner party or other event. always a good listener, Gloria uses her social work skills and then adds her expertise in suggesting gourmet menus and international specialties. When Gloria needs help with special requests, she asks some unique staff people to work with her; for example, a nutritionist, a French Moroccan cook who does wonderful international dishes, and an individual who is especially proficient at carving meat and salmon.

Resourceful and creative, Gloria listens to what people want and then organizes her catering efforts to provide them with a finished product, which looks and tastes wonderful. "I try to give clients the very best they can afford," says Gloria. Over the years, Golden Gourmet - now A PAMPERED AFFAIR,has changed to meet clients changing needs and to reflect Gloria's own changing interests.
